2021-2022 COVID-19 Special Events Policy
For the health and safety of our families and audience members, and in accordance with the event entry requirements of Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, Pittsburgh Youth Chorus (PYC) has adopted the following policy regarding attendance at our performances and other events. Please note that the policy below is for PYC special events. The Health & Safety plan for PYC rehearsals can be viewed on our website.
Vaccination Requirements
Attendees to PYC events who are 12+ years or older must be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination is required for entrance into PYC events along with a government-issued photo ID (I.e. A drivers’ license or passport or a school photo ID for those under 18). Attendees will be considered fully vaccinated if they are attending a PYC event at least 14 days after receiving their second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or at least 14 days after receiving their single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Proof of vaccination should be directly from the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination. Attendees can bring their vaccination cards or show PYC staff a photo of their vaccination cards on their smartphones.
While attendees under the age of 12 are not required to be vaccinated, they must be tested and accompanied by an adult meeting our vaccination requirements.
Attendees who need reasonable accommodations due to a medical exception or sincerely held religious beliefs will be the only exceptions to the vaccination requirements; however, if attendees are not able to be vaccinated for one of those reasons, they must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test in one of the accepted forms listed below:
-
negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours of the performance start time, or
-
negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time.
Because PYC staff must be able to verify the date the test was taken and the individual to whom it was administered, we are not able to accept take-at-home tests. If you plan to attend a PYC event with reasonable accommodation, please plan ahead and schedule your test with a local health care provider or pharmacy.
Test results should express: 1) the institution administrating the test, 2) the name of the individual tested, and 3) the date of the test. Hard copy, email/web, and photograph results are all acceptable given that this information is clearly expressed.
Entry will be denied for guests who do not provide the documentation as required above.
Masks
Masks are required at PYC events. Approved facial protective coverings include masks which are constructed of cloth, tightly-woven fabrics, such as cotton and cotton blends, and must contain two or three layers of fabric. Surgical masks, KN95 masks, and NIOSH-approved N95 respirators are approved facial protective coverings. Gaiters, bandanas, ski masks, scarves, face shields, or vented masks, etc. are not approved facial protective coverings.
Social Distancing
PYC will not formally manage social distancing in event venues, but attendees are encouraged to practice their own social distancing. PYC will employ timed entry for ticketed events. Details of timed entry protocols will be provided at the time of ticket purchase.
Health & Safety
Attendees should not attend a PYC event if they have a fever or are displaying any COVID-19 symptoms.
